Pick a drug law you don't like from the last 25 years and thank Sen. Joe Biden. He deserves a lot of the credit for the U.S., with 5% of the world's population, having 25% of the world's prisoners.

Biden also pushed for much harsher penalties for possession, use, or sale of crack (prevalent in the ghettos) than for powder cocaine (favored by white folks).

Biden was also instrumental in creating the Office of National Office of Drug Control Policy and takes credit for coining the phrase "Drug Czar" to describe its director.

And look where it got him — the Democratic vice-presidential nomination.

How many Vietnamese citizens, men, women and children, did McCain's bombs kill or maim during his twenty-three runs?

Given all the praise heaped upon McCain, the bomber of Hanoi, this is a natural question - especially for the millions of us who remember the inexpressible shamefulness of this genocidal war on that agrarian Asian population.

Surely the Vietnamese government, which America now happily trades with and recommended for WTO membership, has on file the answer to how many of its citizens perished during those twenty-three bombing runs. If any American was interested to know.

I understand that people are afraid to face the fact that 9/11 and the anthrax attacks were inside jobs, because that would be painful. It would challenge their assumptions of benign father figures running our government, and would mean that there is no Santa Claus and governments sometimes do horrible things to their own people to justify power-grabs. (Despite my sarcasm, I actually try to sympathize with people who are locked in a prison of fear).

But if Americans had gotten a spine a couple of years ago and had the courage to deal with reality, we could have thrown the bums behind these false flag attacks out on their ears (and into jail), held a truth and reconciliation commission, appointed honest leaders, gone through the healing process, and gotten back on track towards the effort to try to make real what the Founding Fathers wrote about in the Constitution.

Instead, due to Americans' pain-avoidance tactics and their tremendous efforts to deny reality in order to avoid unpleasant truths, things have gotten worse: freedoms have been more widely abused, costly new wars have been planned, fascism has become more entrenched.

When the Ostrich buries its head in the sand, it only encourages an attack by predators. By trying to the painful truth, Americans have only delayed the inevitable. Instead of avoiding pain, all we have done is allowed the cancer to spread.

On Sunday, when Cindy McCain said that Sarah Palin's national security experience is that "Alaska is the closest part of our continent to Russia," we all assumed it was a gaffe. But more than three days later, all her husband could come up with in response to a question about whether Gov. Palin's has enough experience to be commander-in-chief was: "Alaska is right next to Russia. She understands that."

Right. Gov. Palin's foreign policy/national security experience is living less than a thousand miles from Siberia. What more does one need to be commander-in-chief?

If that's all it takes, why not just cancel the election and draw the name of any Alaskan out of a hat and make him or her president?

Is ANYONE in the United States stupid enough to fall for that??

That, "my friends," is not straight talk. It is pure, unadulterated, crooked bullshit.

Americans are being groomed to be the latest incarnation of the typical German citizen circa 1938; and when the powers that be finally feel as though those of us who are awake constitute a small enough minority, those "patriotic" citizens are going to buy right into the claims that will be made, that it is their duty to help load us onto the rail cars that have already been built and are ready to take us to any number of the six hundred or so civilian prison camps throughout the good old US of A, that currently await our arrival.

pauler ron:

Considering Biden's age, if he dies I'm worried that Obama won't know what to do and our country doesn't need the changes that a man like him, that is totally inexperienced could do. He has no experience in foreign relations and could give the enemy everything they want which would leave us vulnerable to attack. You can’t make deals with terrorists and Islamic countries as we are their Monkeys and Pigs. It isn’t nice living as a Dhimmis as all non Muslims know living in those countries…research the Coptics in Egypt.

In her acceptance speech last night, Palin told a whole string of lies. My favorite was talking about little Trig, her latest offspring, who was born with Down syndrome. Looking right out into the camera, she told the parents of America with special needs children that if she and John McCain win in November, “You’ll have an advocate in Washington.”

Hard to square that with the truth, though, which is that as governor, Palin as proposed a reduction in funds for special needs grants to schools in both her budgets.

Palin has also tried to turn a family tragedy—her 17-year old daughter Bristol’s getting pregnant by a local self-described 18-year-old “redneck” athlete from the same high school—into a virtue by saying that she and her husband will be helping their daughter “keep the child” and raise it. To keep things cool in the eyes of god, she also announced that the two teen parents would be getting married. Both kids were prominently on display at the Republican National Convention during her speech.

What Palin didn’t tell convention-goers or the national viewing audience was that as governor she cut the funds for a program in the state to support single teen mothers and that as a PTA member, mayor and finally as governor of Alaska, she has opposed sex education in the schools—something that her daughter and future son-in-law clearly could have used.

Palin continued, in her acceptance speech, to spout another lie which she had already been making in her first days on the stump since being picked by McCain as his choice for running mate: that she had said “No thank you” to the $439-million “Bridge to Nowhere” which, as perhaps the biggest single earmark in a year of record earmarks last year had become a national joke line. The truth: Palin backed that bridge, and was even ready to add state funding to get it built, until it became a national joke. Then she thought better, and killed the bridge, while still taking the money, which the state’s senior senator, Ted Stevens (now under indictment for taking bribes from contractors), had earmarked.

John McCain likes to ride around in a bus he dubs the “Straight-Talk Express.” Looks like she might need to find another ride.

Considering McCain's age, the very real possibility is that, if elected, Queen Sarah could become our president.

Do we really want someone in the Oval Office, responsible for our national security, foreign affairs, our economy, health care, social security etc. who has no ( ZERO ) experience in any of these vital areas?

John McCain's campaign is older than Sarah's term as governor and already there are investigations into possible wrong-doing. Her former job as mayor of a very small town of about 9,000 is her only other governmental claim to fame.

She claimed "foreign policy" experience because Alaska shares a border with Russia.

She is FAR RIGHT wing...perhaps more so than Bush and certainly farther to the right than McCain is.

Don't think of her as Vice President Palin...think of her as if she could become "President Palin"

We already have "King George" ... is America ready for "Queen Sarah"?

After Barockstar’s near fatal empty suit performance at Saddleback Saturday, the Obama spin machine is in damage control overdrive. I wonder if they‘ve had time to realize that they have been triangulated by the Clinton war room and set up to take a fall at the DNC convention?

That old Clinton war room stench is in the air again… It seems the empty suit and his empty headed staff is not quite up to speed on Clintonian strategeries.

Consider the latest Clinton maneuvers:

• Camp Clinton convinced Camp Obama to help liquidate her campaign debts.

• Camp Clinton convinced Camp Obama to call for Florida and Michigan voters to be counted. It’s the right thing to do, of course. But had it already been done, Hillary would already be the nominee.

• Camp Clinton convinces Camp Obama to agree to a floor vote at the convention when all the cameras will be rolling. What if Clinton wins on the floor?

• Camp Clinton removes Obama supporter John Edwards from the equation, along with his scheduled convention speaking spot, on the basis that he is now a known lying cheater. But Bill Clinton (also a known lying cheater) is the headliner of the convention, and he’s not an Obama supporter at all.

• Barockstar tanks on national TV only days before the convention and his campaign staff is sent out to do damage control, leaving the super-delegates gasping in a 'holy crap' moment, with the sudden realization that this empty suit is in no way ready for the big show. Only a promise to make a VP announcement this week can get his failed TV appearance off the front pages.

• Meanwhile, Camp Clinton is mobilizing millions of 'NObama' minions and staging a convention coup in which Hillary can ride in on silver steed to save the party from complete implosion on an international stage …

Even James Carville, Dick Morris and Oliver Stone combined, could not have written this script any better. All we need is a second gunman on the grassy knoll. Howard Dean maybe?

The fact that millions of Democrat voters were intentionally disenfranchised by their own party in the primaries leaves the chosen one the prime target of too many in-house enemies. And nobody in American politics is better at organizing, mobilizing and exploiting in-house enemies than the Clintons.

Barockstar’s off-teleprompter performances consistently make George Bush look like a silver tongued genius. That fact makes even the most ardent Obama supporters second guess their early hypnotic socialist driven lust for the "chosen one."

Ship Obama is taking on water faster than the spin machine can bail. The DNC is going to need a new savior by this time next week and guess who is positioned to save the party?
